BSP scoops best private sector employer award

Bank South Pacific was awarded the 2018 Best Private Sector Employer by the Papua New Guinea Human resource Institute (PNGHRI) at the PNGHRI Conference in Port Moresby.

The award recognises top notch best practices, systems and the management of the increasing and demanding area of human resource management.

This year, BSP raised the bar in being recognised for implementing the Human Resource Information Software “iChris System” which provides and facilitates consistency of structures for its employees across the bank’s operations in PNG, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands and Vanuatu.

The PNGHRI awards have stringent criteria including Leadership, Strategic HR Focus, Continuous improvement in Training and Development, Business Results and Corporate Social Responsibility, and BSP has been awarded this prestigious award and recognition for consecutively since 2012.

BSP General Manager Human Resources, Hari Rabura, when receiving the award thanked PNGHRI for recognising BSP's efforts in HR in PNG and the Pacific.

“The award is testament to the level of commitment BSP has in developing our human resources,” she stated.

“We strive consistently to ensure that what we do is aligned to best HR practices and industrial relations given the digital era where technologies and trends are changing the way we live and work. This is also changing the way we practitioners do our work.”
