PNG products showcased at Chinese expo

WR Carpenter PNG was one of 17 exhibitors at this year’s China International Import Expo in Shanghai from November 6 to 10, 2018.

PNG attended the exposition to showcase its many products to the Chinese market.

Seeing that this Asian nation is opening up its doors to more imports, WRC PNG jumped at the chance to talk about its products.

“Expos like these are a great place to meet prospective clients. We are heavily investing in such events this year to get our products into other markets,” said WRC PNG Country Manager, John Mangos.

“We seized the opportunity when it came up because we want to showcase our brands to China. We are excited to see what comes of the next event on our calendar that will be in Korea – the Seoul Int’l Café Show. Amongst other products, we grow and package coffee and different types of teas – green, black and white.

After the success of our teas in the recent Australian International Tea Expo, we want to see what else is out there. China is a good starting point as the country is looking for trade partners.”

Staged in Shanghai, China’s famous metropolis that is situated in the Yangtze River estuary, the expo’s organizers were expecting a turnout of 150,000 visitors and 1000 exhibitors. Over 3,000 companies attended. PNG was one of 172 countries present.

The exhibition was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
