Rugby league star Konrad Hurrell in Engage and Learn session with Digicel staff

There was pin-drop silence in the room as Tongan rugby league star, Konrad Hurrell spoke candidly about his journey to the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Digicel Tonga staff, who participated in the Engage and Learn session on Friday, could relate to Hurrell’s experiences of living in Tonga and overseas, family principles, focus on God and challenges he faced in his career.

According to Hurrell, all these factors added value to his journey as a member of the Mate Ma’a Tonga that created headlines and history in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

MMT in spectacular fashion upset giants New Zealand in a game that is still being talked about today.

Hurrell grew up in Tonga before starting his rugby profession with New Zealand Warriors.

He now plays for the Gold Coast Titans in Australia.

The Engage and Learn Session is aimed at improving workplace culture.
