U.S. Coast Guardsmen Visit Vava’u, Tonga

The U.S Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) WALNUT made a friendly visit to Vava’u Tonga earlier this month.

The team conducted a clean-up at Prince Wellington Ngu Hospital.

The WALNUT team cleaned the hospital and surrounding yard and repaired the ceiling and overhead areas that were damaged.

As a token of gratitude, the guardsmen received a beautiful hand-painted tapestry of Vava’u.

US Embassy Suva said via social media that the tapestry is now displayed in the main passageway on the ship to remind the team of its time in Tonga.
