Tonga Breast Cancer Society has received $1000 cash donation from of the country’s leading telecommunication services provider Digicel Tonga.
The donation is part of the company’s efforts to help women who are suffering and need treatment.
Digicel Tonga in the month of October donated $1 towards the worthy cause for every Smart phone sold in all their stores.
Cancer is the second cause of death in Tonga according to the Director of Health – Dr. Siale ‘Akauola.
At an event to launch breast cancer awareness month in October, Dr. ‘Akau’ola urged women to get early detection screening help and get treatment as soon as possible.
