Kenny Rogers is hanging up his mic, but not before a farewell tour.
The country music legend used the platform of his appearance on the Today show to announce his next world trek would be his last. Details on that tour, however, haven’t been announced just yet.
"I've done this long enough. There's a fine line between being driven and being selfish, and I think I crossed that line when I was younger," Rogers said. "I really want to be there with my kids and my wife. I don't see enough of them. And I have some things on my bucket list." Rolling Stone reports Rogers is working on two separate books of photographs.
Rogers is gearing up for another North America holiday season trek. His Once Again Its Christmas Tour starts Nov. 12 at Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The Country Music Hall of Famer has charted a record in each of the last seven decades and has sold more than one hundred million records worldwide.
Rogers was formally inducted as a new member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville in October 2013 and received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 47th Annual CMA Awards in the same year.
Over the course of a stellar career, he has received three Grammys, 11 People's Choice Awards, 18 American Music Awards, eight Academy of Country Music awards and six CMA awards.
