Rihanna's backing dancer found 'safe' after social campaign

One of Rihanna's former backing dancers, Shirlene Quigley, has been found "safe".

The North Bergen Police Department, based in New Jersey, said: "She is safe and at a medical facility.

"Detectives have contacted her father and he is in route from Los Angeles to reunite with his daughter."

Rihanna and Missy Elliot were among the people who posted pleas on social media to help find the dancer, who had been missing since Friday.

Rihanna's Instagram post said: "This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!!

"My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her!"

After Shirlene was found, Missy Elliot wrote: "Thank you for all of your countless prayers and persistence in getting the word out about Shirlene Quigley's disappearance. I'm just thankful you are still here with us today."

The 32-year-old, who has also performed with Beyonce and Jamie Foxx, had not been seen since boarding a bus in New York early on Friday morning.

She's appeared in Beyonce's Crazy In Love music video and has also appeared on TV shows including Saturday Night Live and America's Got Talent.

Shirlene's father told police she'd gone missing after she didn't make her regular evening call.

North Bergen Police added: "We are very pleased with this outcome. We want to thank the New York City Police Department for their tremendous amount of cooperation in this matter."
