Twitter considers character limit of 10,000

Twitter is building a new feature which will allow users to post messages as long as 10,000 characters, according to reports.

The technical news site Re/code said Twitter, which currently has a 140-character limit, was considering launching the service in a few months.

Re/code said the company, in an attempt to keep a similar look for the timeline, was testing a version of the product which displayed 140-character-long tweets but expanded to reveal more content when clicked.

However, some users took to Twitter to express their dissent to the new feature with the hashtag #beyond140.
