Another big win for Te Vaka singer

Disney's animated movie Moana has picked up another international award, this time from the American Music Awards for Top Soundtrack.

Te Vaka's Opetaia Foa'i, who last week won the New Zealand Music Award for International Achievement, was part of the team that composed the soundtrack for Moana.

The Samoan-Tokelaun artist is proud to see emerging artists incorporating culture into their work, giving it a contemporary edge.

"The metal band, Alien Weaponry, they're doing it in Te Reo Maori," he says. "Our culture and our artists they're very very talented and I just hope they can manage properly because the world awaits."
