Miss Pacific Islands in Auckland

The cool, sometimes chilly, autumn weather of Auckland has not dampened the spirit of Miss Pacific Islands, Leoshina Kariha.

She is currently in Auckland, New Zealand, in her role as cultural and tourism ambassador for PNG as well as for the Pacific region.

Miss Kariha is part of PNG’s Tourism Promotion Authority’s (TPA) team and is accompanied by six tour operators to showcase PNG in one of the largest regional cultural expos organised by the South Pacific Tourism Office (SPTO) based in Fiji.

The Auckland show is one of the most important travel events for marketers wishing to reach consumers and travel agents.

As Miss Pacific Islands, Miss Kariha also takes on the role of Ambassador advocating for sustainable tourism at regional and international level.

SPTO is ensuring Miss Kariha's role can highlight Pacific culture and people and also empower her as a young Pacific woman.

One of SPTO’s main objectives is to make certain Miss Kariha has a platform to also promote her messages of empowering women, culture, tourism and sustainable development.
