Miss Samoa is new queen of Pacific

Miss Samoa, Fonoifafo McFarland Seumanu, is the new Miss Pacific Islands 2019.

The 24-year-old beauty was crowned last night in Port Moresby.

The crowning took place at the Stanley Hotel guided by the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant theme of “Pacific We Are, One Step, One Aspiration”.

Seumanu, who is a public nurse by profession, was supported by the Samoan delegates at the crowning ceremony.

Miss Samoa won the Best Traditional Wear and Best Interview categories.

The other regional contestants who participated were from American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Marshall Islands, Nauru, PNG, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga, Tuvalu and Wallis and Futuna.

Miss Tonga was 4th runner up while Miss Tahiti, Miss PNG and Miss Solomon Islands were 3rd, 2nd and 1st   runner ups respectively.

Samoa has also secured the rights to host the next Miss Pacific Islands Pageant in 2020.
