Thousands expected to view Aretha Franklin's body

Thousands are expected to gather in Detroit in coming days to pay their respects to Aretha Franklin.

The 'Queen of Soul' died almost two weeks ago.

Franklin's body will be on view at an African-American museum in her home town of Detroit ahead of her funeral there on Friday.

The Charles H Wright Museum also held civil rights activist Rosa Parks' viewing in 2005.

A week of mourning is underway in Detroit, where the death of Franklin is being treated like royalty.

Former US President Bill Clinton is will speak at Franklin's funeral on Friday, with Stevie Wonder among those who will sing.

The streets outside the Greater Grace Temple where the funeral is being held are expected to be lined with pink Cadillac cars in a tribute to her 1985 hit Freeway of Love
