Tuimoala Lolohea opens up on why he wants out at Warriors

Tuimoala Lolohea has told Australian media he needs to get out of his comfort zone as he seeks a release from the Warriors.

The 22-year-old has been told by the club that they'll allow him to leave before his current contract runs out.

Wests Tigers are one of three clubs interested in picking him up, possibly as early as this season.

Lolohea is in Sydney this week, preparing for Tonga's test against Fiji on Saturday and told Australian media that a change of environment could be good for him.

"I've been in my comfort zone and maybe I need to get out of my comfort zone and get away from the things I am comfortable with," Lolohea told Fox Sports.

"I just want to let my football do the talking at the moment and want to put my name back on the map."

Lolohea was supposed to be one of the Warriors' regular wingers this year, but also filled in at fullback and five-eighth before being dropped and he admitted the season hasn't been an easy one for him.

"Yeah it's been pretty tough to be honest I have had a lot of support from people," he said.

"Probably kept a lot to myself, I've actually been at the club (Warriors) since I was 14 and I'm 22 now."

This weekend for Tonga Lolohea will be back in the halves, partnering Warriors team-mate Ata Hingano, who could also be leaving the club at the end of the season unless he signs a new deal.

Lolohea says he's glad to be in a position that he enjoys playing in.

"That's where I started playing in my career and that's where I played growing up," Lolohea told the Daily Telegraph.

"I was talking to Will Hopoate about it, that I felt a little bit lost, mind-wise. It's going to be a good test for me this week back in the halves."
