Lord Ve’ehala re-elected as Tonga FA President

Tonga Football Association members have re-elected President Lord Ve’ehala and all the Executive Committee members unopposed at the Annual General Meeting.

With no new candidates to challenge the President, the General Meeting members have unanimously accepted the proposed roadmap giving the President another four-year mandate to run Tonga Football.

Tonga FA was founded in 1965 and became a full member of FIFA in 1994, in the first year of his tenure.

Ve’ehala, who is the longest serving president in the association’s history, was delighted with the outcome.

“We’ve had a very friendly and positive meeting and we are all on the same page to advance the game here.

“We are excited about our work ahead to increase the popularity and quality of football in Tonga,” he said.

OFC President Lambert Maltock has sent his congratulations to the Tonga FA President on his re-election.

“I’m sending my best wished to Lord Ve’ehala and very much looking forward to keep working with him on our mission to develop football in the Oceania region,” the OFC President said.
