PNG athletes in impressive form

The PNG Athletics Commonwealth Games team members were in top form in their respective competitions over the weekend.

Ephraim Lerkin was a force to be reckoned with at the Victorian State Championships in Melbourne while Wesley Logorava clocked in a personal best 21.67 seconds in the 200m sprint at the Junior College National Championships in Texas.

Lerkin won the 400m hurdles in 51.85 second while Boino sprinted in third with a time of 52.40 second.

They each were successful in their respective semi-final races.

In the field events, Debona Paraka took the field by storm. He threw to victory in the discus competition in Brisbane with 50.13metres.

Over in Birmingham, United Kingdiom, Nazmie Marai ran his first ever Indoor Race at the Indoor Championships, stopping the clock at 7.01 seconds in the 60-metre race, finishing sixth in a top class field of eight. 

Meanwhile, Rellie Kaputin and Afure Adah will be competing at the NCAA Division 2 Indoor National Championships in Kansas this coming weekend.
