Madeleine McCann's parents welcome declaration of formal suspect

Kate and Gerry McCann said it reflected progress in the investigation, adding they still hoped to be reunited with Madeleine, who went missing in 2007.

Portuguese prosecutors made Christian Brueckner an "arguido" on Thursday, but did not formally reveal his name.

Brueckner has not been charged and denies any involvement in the case.

Madeleine disappeared during a family holiday in Praia da Luz and investigators believe she was abducted from the apartment where the family were staying in the Algarve resort.

No arrests yet in the 2020 murder of Tongan woman in the US

Salt Lake Investigators discovered 42-year-old Kaufusi had been shot on August 2020.

Police have treated the suspicious death as a homicide.

Kaufusi’s body was discovered by a jogger about a half mile east of Saltair near an I-80 frontage road. She had been deceased “at least several days,” reports said.

Her family has raised concerns about the case.

“Nothing,” Makalita Ofa, her aunt, said. “Nothing at all”, reported KSL.com.

Tongan Government limits 2020 whale watching season

Tourism Minister ‘Akosita Lavulavu Minister’s Order has been published in the Tonga Government Gazette, effective Tuesday, 25 February 2020.

The Order was approved by Cabinet, and exercises powers conferred on the Minister of Tourism by the Whale Watching and Swimming Regulations.

The ministry had received a record number of applications from both local and overseas operators applying for a licence to conduct whale watching and swimming activities in all the island groups of Tonga.

Full moon and lunar eclipse delight skywatchers

Those gazing up at the skies on Friday, weather permitting, would have seen a penumbral lunar eclipse, which happens when the moon passes through the Earth's shadow.

The phenomenon, which began at 17:00 GMT in the UK and ended at around 21:00, saw the moon move into Earth's penumbra, or outer shadow, causing it to look darker than normal.

Ed Bloomer, an astronomer at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, said people in the UK would be able to see the display "nice and clearly".
