Tongan couple in court for trafficking and enslaving woman

They allegedly brought a Fijian woman to work in their Brisbane home for about $US178 a fortnight between 2008 and 2016.

Isikeli Feleatoua Pulini and Malavine Pulini, have pleaded not guilty to the trafficking and forced labour charges but pleaded guilty to harbouring an unlawful non-citizen.

According to reports, the Fijian woman alleges she was trafficked into forced labour for the Pulinis while she was in Australia illegally.

It's alleged she was kept hidden but managed to escape from the couple in 2016.

Aircraft terror plot accused to appear in Australian court

New South Wales counter-terrorism police have charged a 49-year-old man from Lakemba and a 32-year-old Punchbowl man arrested in raids last weekend across Sydney.

They have each been charged with two counts of preparing for, or planning, a terrorist attack and are due to face court in Parramatta. The maximum penalty for the offence is life imprisonment.

Another man - arrested at Surry Hills - remains in police custody under the "specified time" provisions.
