Guests were given a presentation from Head of Business Solutions, Sam Baillieu on Digicel's products & services to suit all businesses.

They were also able to meet the Digicel team led by Chief Executive Officer, Ben Kealy.

Digicel acknowledged the strong partnership with key stakeholders in Vava'u.

Digicel invests for the future of Tonga

Tonga Cable System is a submarine cable system, which connects Tonga with Fiji and spans about 827 kilometers. It has cable landing points at Sopu in Tonga and Suva in Fiji and was jointly funded by Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.

Digicel Tonga shares in Christmas spirit of giving

Digicel Staff and customers enjoyed the tunes yesterday and presented a shopping voucher and giveaways in appreciation of their support for the community.

Earlier in the day, Digicel Tonga staff visited children at Vaiola Hospital Children’s Ward and presented them with Christmas hampers and giveaways.

Spreading the Christmas cheer across Tonga this week, the team were happy and excited to be able to be part of festivities and more importantly to be able to 'give' back to the community this Christmas.

Brave police officer rewarded with new mobile phone

Constable Anthony Kendang and his colleagues, from the Superintendent Operations Office in Boroko, were responding to an armed robbery at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Downtown Port Moresby on Monday morning.

During the robbery, an armed suspect shot him. Luckily, the bullet missed his heart when it hit his mobile phone and power pack, which was in his pocket at the time of the incident.

The lucky police officer was saved by a mobile phone, which acted as a shield for his heart when the bullet was fired.

Digicel sets sights on future at Business Solutions Conference

The conference, which was held for Digicel Leaders in the Pacific Markets, was hosted by Gary Cobain, Head of Digicel Pacific ICT Business Solutions.

The two-day event served as a training platform for Digicel staff to increase their knowledge of business products and services to provide better solutions for Digicel’s business customers.

Gary Cobain said the conference focused on increasing awareness of the benefits technology can deliver for businesses across the South Pacific region including greater efficiencies and increased productivity.

From noon today, it will be broadcast for tens of thousands of Sky Pacific customers across the region.

Since Digicel has taken ownership of Sky Pacific a mere 2 months ago, they have already started improving content- and the introduction of the Paramount Channel is further testament to their dedication to bring about positive change for customers.

The award was presented in Port Vila, Vanuatu during the two-day Pacific ICT Days event where members of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) gathered to celebrate the World Telecommunications and Information Society Day for 2016.
