Floyd Mayweather fight descends into chaos

Referee Kenny Bayliss stopped the fight in the sixth round to the annoyance of Gotti, who then lashed out at 46-year-old Mayweather.

The ring was then swarmed with team members from both sides as Bayliss struggled to contain the drama.

Gotti III, 30, is the grandson of former New York crime boss John Gotti.

The melee kicked off a number of fights amongst the crowd in the FLA Live Arena in Florida and backstage.

Mayweather to fight another exhibition bout in Japan

Promoters on Tuesday said the bout is scheduled for September.

The rules and length of the bout have not yet been made public.

Mayweather retired undefeated from professional boxing almost five years ago but has been fighting exhibitions. Just over three years ago in Japan he knocked out Tenshin Nasukawa, a well-known Japanese kickboxer.

Mayweather was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday in the United States.

Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul exhibition boxing fight slammed by purists

The bout finished without an official result but Paul used his height and weight advantage to give Mayweather more trouble than he was expecting.

Mayweather exhibited patience and took control of the fight and landed the more telling blows. Paul looked visibly tired by the end of the fourth round and Mayweather was moving forward more aggressively as the fight wore on. Yet the fact that Paul went the distance with the undefeated retired star surprised many.

The Class of 2021 announced on Tuesday (Wednesday NZT) also includes former Olympic champion Andre Ward, Ann Wolfe, Marian Trimiar, and Dr Margaret Goodman.

Floyd Mayweather Announces Exhibition Fight With Logan Paul

The two have been heavily rumoured to have been in talks over facing one another in a mega-fight inside the squared circle and the 50-0 boxer has taken to Instagram to confirm the fight will be happening on pay-per-view on 20 February 2021.

This will be the second exhibition fight for Mayweather since retiring. 'Money' made easy work of Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Tokyo on New Year's Eve 2018.

Floyd Mayweather hits back at 50 Cent's claims the famous boxer is broke

Or, did he actually prove 'Fiddy's' point?

'Money' Mayweather offered a response of sorts after 50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, claimed that his $1 billion fortune was "gone" due to an extravagant lifestyle.

Without mentioning Jackson, a former friend turned rival, Mayweather posted an image of his outrageously-huge shoe closet.

Whether the shoe closet is a true sign of wealth, or the epitome of ruinous spending, is perhaps in the eye of the beholder.

Mayweather makes Pacquiao claim

After coming face-to-face with Pacquiao during his tour of Japan, Mayweather released a video on Instagram accompanied by the message: "I'm coming back to fight Manny Pacquiao this year, another nine-figure pay day on the way!"

The American, 41, can be heard shouting in the video: "I'm coming back in December!"

Mayweather is unbeaten in 50 career contests, having stopped UFC star Conor McGregor in a lucrative Las Vegas bout last August.

Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision at the MGM Grand in May 2015 in a long-awaited bout between the pair.

Floyd Mayweather's new LA digs

The now-retired undefeated boxer has just bought a luxurious NZD$35 million six-bedroom house in Los Angeles, which has a 50-person cinema, swimming pool, wine cellar and a four-car garage.

Mayweather reportedly won US$300 million when he beat Irish UFC star Conor McGregor in a boxing match last month, so definitely has the money to treat himself.

He posted a few pics on his Instagram account of his new pad and a video of him going through a large lolly collection before heading into his cinema to watch Sportscenter.

McGregor's $138k bar tab

UFC superstar Conor McGregor racked up a bar tab of NZ$138,000 as he celebrated his boxing loss to Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor suffered a 10th round TKO in an absorbing battle with Mayweather in Las Vegas on Sunday.

But he might have had a bigger headache from the action after the bout.

He turned up to the official press conference with a bottle of Irish whiskey, and that was just the start of a long night.

McGregor: Money down in one

Conor McGregor is picking a first round knockout win in his mega money fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Both pugilists came together in a fight promotion on Tuesday (NZT Wednesday) and got into an unplanned confrontation before promising to knock each other out in their highly anticipated boxing clash this weekend.

Bodyguards kept them apart and both fighters were smart enough not to do anything to jeopardise their immense paydays from what could be the richest fight ever.
