​Hunters in third place

Favourable results and a big 40-10 win over the Tweed Heads Seagulls yesterday pushed the Hunters up a spot.

The Hunters are tied with the Redcliffe Dolphins on 24 points but a better for and against of 159 has put the Dolphins in second place. The Hunters have a for and against of 80.

After 17 rounds, the Hunters are on 24 points (11 wins, 5 losses and 1 bye).

Burleigh Bears (27), Redcliffe Dolphins (24), SP Hunters (24), Townsville Blackhawks (23), Easts Tigers (23), Northern Pride (18).

 

Kumuls selection still open to domestic competition

Kumuls coach Michael Marum says there’s no guarantee that the players that challenged Fiji in the recent Pacific Test have a place in the Kumuls.

Marum said they will have to compete against everyone else including players in the Digicel Cup, Queensland Intrust Super Cup, NRL and the Super League that is played in England.

He said all these players are performing well and will be considered as selectors will have to pick the best players.

“There’s no automatic selection for players that played against Fiji.
