Third man charged for Mangere murder

A 25-year-old man from Mangere has been charged with the murder of Epalahame Tuuheava and the attempted murder of his wife.

He is charged jointly with the two men arrested earlier Friday.

"Even after this third arrest for the murder and attempted murder, our investigation team will continue to identify and prosecute anyone else who played a part in this," Detective Inspector Tofilau Faa Vaaelua said.

Meanwhile, the two men arrested in relation to the investigation appeared in court Friday afternoon.

Two men arrested over Māngere fatal shooting

The 28-year-old was found dead on Greenwood Road in Mangere. Police say he was shot at least once in the head.

His wife Mele, also known as Yolanda, was found lying next to him. She had allegedly been shot in the upper body and is still being treated in hospital for gunshot wounds.

Police say two south Auckland men, aged 24 and 30, have been charged with murder and attempted murder.

They are due to appear in Manukau District Court later today.

They have confirmed the victim as 28-year-old Eplahame Tu'uheava, whose partner is recovering from gunshot wounds in hospital.

Detectives are appealing for the public's help to catch two Tongan men after the execution-style killing of Mr Tu'uheava who was shot in the head on a lonely road in Mangere.

His wife Mele survived a gunshot to her upper body.
