Malian mother's nonuplets face months in incubators, says clinic

Professor Youssef Alaoui of the Ain Borja clinic in Casablanca, Morocco, told the AFP news agency that the case was "extremely rare" and "exceptional".

The mother, Halima Cissé, 25, and her nonuplets - five girls and four boys - are said to be doing well.

The babies weighed between 500g and 1kg (1.1lb and 2.2lb) when they were born.

Medical director Prof Alaoui said that Ms Cissé was 25 weeks pregnant when she was admitted and his team managed to extend her term to 30 weeks. Ten doctors and 25 paramedics assisted at the delivery.

Son's practical joke on his mother

Barbara Nielsen's son, Damien, welcomed her home from a business trip by holding up a sign that read "welcome home from prison Mom".

Ms Nielsen had just got off the plane from a business trip for the manufacturing company she works for and was waiting at the baggage claim when she was greeted by her family and the embarrassing sign.

But even she could see the funny side in the practical joke, posting a picture of the sign on Facebook.

We love our TV moms

The matriarch on Fox's hit series "Empire" is an ex-con taking on her ex-husband Lucious, reclaiming her part in the family record company and reuniting with sons Andre, Jamal, and Hakeem.

Played to the hilt by actress Taraji P. Henson, "Cookie" is tough and just one of the modern TV moms we adore.

Here are some others:

Bonnie Plunkett on "Mom"

It isn't easy to make drug and alcohol abuse recovery funny, but Allison Janney as Bonnie and Anna Faris as her daughter, Christy, do a great job on the hit CBS comedy "Mom."

Birth PTSD: Mothers speak out about long-term trauma

Olivia was born at 25 weeks and weighed 635 grams.

The new mum was plunged into a profound shock that is usually associated with returned soldiers.

"I didn't realise that I was at risk too," she said.

"When they [the doctors] tilted the bed slightly ... I could hear my blood running off ... it was horrific, I ended up with a third of my blood volume," she said.

Ms Livesey-Giles cried when she first saw her daughter.

"I just started crying and apologising to her ... she didn't look like a baby, there were tubes and wires and everything," she said.

Pregnant model Porsche Thomas body-shamed for showing her belly

The daughter of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Peter Thomas put a bikini photo of herself on Instagram at the end of last month, just before giving birth to twins.

But she's since been trolled over the shot, with one person asking why her belly was "so black".

Another user said her pregnant body looked "nasty".

The model, actress and writer, who gave birth to twins August and Berlin on Saturday, has responded to say she's now getting on with her life.
