Two men charged with murder of Alec Moala in Auckland

The identities of the men aged 26 and 28 have been not been released.

Moala, who is married with three children, was shot last Sunday morning in Otahuhu.

His father Naeata told the New Zealand Herald that he believes his son died being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He said he has been told his son went to a house in Ōtāhuhu's Beatty St to help a woman in distress who was being beaten up.

During the week, Police appealed for information.

A team of detectives worked tirelessly since Sunday to identify those responsible and hold them to account.

Autopsy results expected this weekend in Polikalepo Kefu’s alleged homicide case

Kefu was allegedly murdered near his home in Lapaha on 1 May.

It is understood Kefu’s body will be released to his family tomorrow.

It will be followed by a funeral mass for Kefu which will be held at the Sangato Mikaele church in Lapaha at 3pm.

A 27-year-old man charged in connection with his death is expected to appear on May 19, at the Magistrate’s Court in Mu’a.

Three charged with murder of Auckland mum Meliame Fisi’ihoi

Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Bright of Counties Manukau Police said Police have worked tirelessly since Fisi’ihoi was killed in her Favona home on 15 January 2020 to identify those allegedly involved and hold them to account.

Fisi'ihoi was watching TV in the sitting room when she got up to check a noise she heard outside.

The mother of seven was shot through a window near the front door about 2.45am.

Three men aged 19, 22 and 28 have been jointly charged with murder and are expected to appear in the Manukau District Court today.

Boy, 13, stabbed to death in Reading

Officers were called shortly before 16:00 GMT on Sunday following reports of an attack in Bugs Bottom fields, Emmer Green.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

No arrests have been made, but Thames Valley Police believe the boy was attacked by two or three males.

Police said the boy's next of kin have been informed, but no formal identification has taken place.

A "considerable police presence" will be in place for several days, police said.

ACT Chief Police Officer Neil Gaughan told ABC Radio Canberra that a man presented to Calvary Hospital last night with multiple gunshot wounds, accompanied by three other men.

Commissioner Gaughan said those three men were then taken into custody because they were wanted over the brawl at Kokomo’s in Canberra’s CBD.

Last month, a man was seriously injured on the same property in Favona.

On Sunday, graffiti including the words “Aroha Black Power” was painted white on a black hangar next to the house.
