In a lacklustre performance that will surely worry players and fans alike, the Bulldogs were outclassed 28-10 by a South Sydney side playing for nothing more than pride.  

Farah will reportedly leave the Tigers and head to Redfern for the 2017 season with an announcement expected in the next two days.

Fox Sports reporter James Hooper reports that Cronulla was close to nabbing Farah before the Origin hooker opted for the Bunnies.

“If you had asked me a week ago I would have said all roads lead to up up Cronulla, and Robbie Farah joining the Cronulla Sharks, being in the Shire next season,” Hooper told NRL Tonight.

As the team completed their captain's run in Sydney on Friday Gillett was off having scans on the injury that he sustained whilst playing for Queensland in Game Three of the Holden State of Origin series on Wednesday night.

A final decision on the make-up of the Brisbane team will be made on Saturday morning with Alex Glenn likely to move from the centres to the back row, Lachlan Maranta to come in on the wing and Joe Boyce to play his first NRL game of the season and just the second of his career off the bench.

Touted as a possible Blues debutant early last season before a knee injury on Good Friday in 2015 wrecked his hopes, it looked like another cruel injury blow was set to ruin the South Sydney junior’s chances again.

But a month back from a broken jaw, Reynolds has gotten better every week and had the ball on a string in a commanding performance against the Dragons where he shook off an early error to torment the Red V with a serious of precision long and short kicks, helping create three tries off his boot and generate three repeat sets.

Johnston – after a two-month absence – made his return at fullback for South Sydney in their last-start win over the Eels with usual custodian Greg Inglis shifting to five-eighth.

Inglis, who earlier in the week expressed his comfort in the halves, was rather impressed with the 21-year-old's return but wasn't sure what the future holds for either man. 

"He played well. I've always said he had the talent to do it and he's a future fullback for sure," Inglis said.

Grevsmuhl played 29 NRL games for the Rabbitohs having made his debut in round one, 2015, scoring eight tries for the Club.

This was to be Grevsmuhl’s final season in the red and green having already signed a contract to join another NRL Club for the 2017 season.
