Messi breaks Muller goal record

The Barcelona superstar, who equalled the tally while making his 400th LaLiga appearance for the Calatan giants against Levante last weekend, netted his 366th goal in Spain's top flight against Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Messi's left-footed free-kick from 25 yards saw him overtake Muller's haul of 365 Bundesliga strikes for Bayern Munich.

Germany great Muller set the previous record while representing Bayern between 1964 and 1979, scoring his 365 goals in 427 Bundesliga matches.

Harry Kane can break all records

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino backed Harry Kane to break more records after he scored twice in a comfortable home victory over Everton to become Spurs' all-time Premier League goalscorer.

Kane twice netted from close range - converting passes from Son Heung-min and Eric Dier - to take his Premier League tally to 98, one more than Teddy Sheringham scored for the club.

The excellent Son opened the scoring at Wembley by finishing off Serge Aurier's cross, and the South Korea international later hit a post as the hosts dominated.

2015 likely to be warmest on record - UN weather body

Data until the end of October showed this year's temperatures running "well above" any previous 12 month period.

The researchers say the five-year period from 2011 to 2015 was also the warmest on record.

The rise, they said, was due to a combination of a strong El Nino and human-induced global warming.
