NZ Police investigate suspected murder-suicide involving estranged Tongan couple

Viliami Latu, who police believe murdered his estranged partner and mother of his children Toakase Finau, also breached bail several weeks before the killing at his brother’s house, Stuff understands.

Toakase’s mother ‘Alilia Teu Kata told Kaniva News, about the couple’s relationship saying the man’s name was Viliami.

Kata said the couple left behind four children, their daughter and three sons.

She said Toakase, from Māngere in South Auckland, was with her before she left to go to Pukekohe last week.

They allegedly brought a Fijian woman to work in their Brisbane home for about $US178 a fortnight between 2008 and 2016.

Isikeli Feleatoua Pulini and Malavine Pulini, have pleaded not guilty to the trafficking and forced labour charges but pleaded guilty to harbouring an unlawful non-citizen.

According to reports, the Fijian woman alleges she was trafficked into forced labour for the Pulinis while she was in Australia illegally.

It's alleged she was kept hidden but managed to escape from the couple in 2016.

Tongan couple charged with robbing elderly woman in San Mateo, US

Radio Tonga reports information from San Bruno Patch says, both were booked into the county jail.

This comes after a 75 year old elderly woman reported that she was sleeping when a couple placed a pillow over her head and tied her wrists demanding money.

Police says, the victim told them that the female intruder’s voice belongs to her caretaker.

The couple took money from the residence but the amount was not disclosed.
