The Tonga Appeal fundraising launched by Malakai Fekitoa is now close to USD 81k.
Family members and supporters of the Wasps rugby team held a bucket collection during the team’s match against Saracens last night, to support the appeal and managed to raise more than USD2k.
The bucket collection was led by team mate Jacob Umaga and his partner Elisha.
Fekitoa was amazed at the support he received from the public towards the appeal for his people in Tonga.
He posted on his official Twitter page saying: “Super grateful for all your support tonight, thank you Wasps Rugby for your kindness, it means a lot to us. What a feeling… how good to be back and see so many of you. An amazing win and great performance from the boys, let’s keep working.”
Wasps won the match 26-20.
