Tonga Olympian, Pita Taufatofua is confident that the rise in Covid-19 cases in Tonga will not dampen their spirits in working together in the recovery from the volcanic eruption and tsunami.
Taufatofua has raised $AUSD794,898 so far through the ‘GoFundMe’ page he had set up online.
The flag bearer for the pacific island kingdom said “Covid has arrived. But we will not be overcome by fear or panic. Our foundations were never built on land; they were built by faith in the hearts of the people. In a place where no falling ash, rising sea or sickness can ever touch. Still together still standing Tonga Strong.”
