Ten out of ten for Digicel Tonga

Digicel today announced the launch of its ten years anniversary campaign ‘Give and Take’ to mark its milestone achievement.

The campaign is focused on giving ‘much better value’ for money to all our customers.  

The campaign is about ‘Give $99 and Take 10 hours Unlimited Data with a 4G smartphone’.  In addition, customers can ‘Give $10 and Take10 hours Unlimited Data.  These new offers are aligned with the $2 for 2 hours Unlimited Data and the $5 for 5 hours Unlimited Data from 12 midnight to 5am.    

Speaking at the launch, Digicel Tonga CEO, Mr. Ben Kealy, said: "We are always listening to our customers and consistently offering them better value for money in the Kingdom.  From the best promotions to the latest unlimited data plans and the launch of our new IVR at our customer care support line 123, customers' needs have always been and will continue to be our top priority. In fact, customers now see us as their Data Network” 

Mr. Kealy went onto say: "Technically, we were thrilled to have launched Tonga’s first 4G+ network late last year with an investment of US$1.7m and we have continued to raise the bar from a Network perspective. We have also invested hundreds of thousands of US$ dollars in local sponsorships and offered local and international training opportunities to our dedicated staff. By continually challenging ourselves we are bringing the best products and value for money to Tonga backed up by a quality of service that is second to none.”

Today, marks a significant day for Digicel Tonga Limited and we’re excited to celebrate by acknowledging our top 10 key achievements since we launched back in 2008, namely; 

I. Digicel’s inception into the Tonga market in 2008 with the purchase on TonFon and bringing the one of world’s best entertainer ‘Shaggy’ to the Kingdom.  

II. Upgrading of 2G Network to 3G back in 2015.

III. Implemented the longest Microwave Link in the world in 2016 at 189 kilometre’s – focusing on the outer islands of Vava’u and Ha’apai.

IV. Invested US$4.2m in Tonga Cable Limited (TCL) in 2017 and are now a 16.6% shareholder.

V. Support for Special Olympics Tonga Association (SOTA) at the Mango Tree Foundation since 2014.

VI. Continue to support Tonga Rugby and the Tonga NRL

VII. Key member of Tonga Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) 

VIII. Support for the 2017 Inaugural Kingdom Sevens Tournament  

IX. 4G+ network upgrade in 2017 with an investment of US$1.7m.

X. Top $1m refurbishment of its Head Quarters and staff housing following the recent devastation of TC GITA. 

In concluding, Mr. Kealy commented, “We are thankful to all our customers who have been with us over the past ten years as without them we would not have a business.
