Tonga PM to undergo medical treatment in NZ

Prime Minister, Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva, is scheduled to undergo a medical procedure at the Mercy Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.

According to Dr. Sione Latu, Physician Specialist at Vaiola Hospital, medical tests were carried out in Auckland in early April and it was determined that PM Pohiva has a liver complication that the treatment procedure should be carried out on 8 May.

The Prime Minister was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit at Tonga’s Viola Hospital in January.

He was also admitted in hospital in April.
