Dom Sansom a finalist for Digicel Pacific Uniform Design Competition

One of three finalists for Digicel Pacific’s recent Uniform Design Competition, Dom Sansom was delighted to hear that he was shortlisted as a contender with his designs.

The competition was launched to offer the people of the Pacific the opportunity to help design the company’s new retail, corporate and casual uniforms. Sansom’s designs are currently in production with internationally renowned textile company Total Uniform Solutions, and the designs will be showcased on the cat walk at the Style Fiji charity fashion event held this Saturday, November 28th at the Sofitel Resort & Spa.

Dom is a Creative Director, Art Director, Photographer, Typographer and Graphic Artist. Born in London, England, and brought up in Fiji.

Dom has extensive experience in corporate and uniform design. He has produced corporate and uniform designs for iconic Fiji companies such as; Pure Fiji, Air Pacific, Justin Hunter Pearls, Colonial, Fijian Holdings, Fiji Rugby, Sofitel Fiji, and Mokosoi to name a few.

Commenting on what inspired him to enter the competition Dom said, ‘’the chance to design a uniform for an international company was too tempting.’’

On what inspired his designs, Sansom added, ‘’Digicel is pure and simple.  The design for a corporate uniform should reflect the company image. Digicel is a highly visible brand and with the introduction of Digicel's new colours and designs for their marketing material it was the perfect opportunity to add to this by having the design on the uniform.’’

The winner will be presented with a prize of USD$2,000 plus the experience of managing the entire design project from start to finish with a select project team in Australia along with other finalists designs and will be showcased at the Style Fiji event in Nadi this weekend.

This year Style Fiji’s main objective is to raise funds for the St John Fiji Ambulance appeal project, which will enable the St John Association of Fiji to acquire two ambulances that have been donated by St John’s Hong Kong branch. Style Fiji aims to raise $US34,000 ($74,524.26) that is needed to have the two ambulances shipped to Fiji.
