Germany signs contract with Prince Wellington Ngu Hospital

The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany has signed a contract agreement with the Government of Tonga for the photo-voltaic solar project for Prince Ngū Hospital.

Radio Tonga reports the contract was signed in parliament yesterday by the ambassador of Germany to Tonga, Gerhard Thiedemann and the Acting Minister of Health, Tevita Lavemaau.

The project aims to produce sustainable energy

The speaker of Parliament – Lord Tu’ivakanō thanked the government of Germany for their assistance and hope the cooperation between Tonga and Germany will continue in the future.

The project for the photo-voltaic solar power will commence in Vava’u soon with the estimated cost of more than TOP$250,000.

The signing agreement is part of the initiative to mark the official visit of the Speaker of the Legislative of Germany to Tonga Prof. Norbert Lammert.

The delegation from Germany left Tonga yesterday afternoon.
