The Laughing Samoans bring smiles to Christian Leali’ifano

The Laughing Samoans comedy duo of Eteuati Ete and Tofiga Fepulea'I visited Brumbies and Wallabies star rugby player Christian Leali'ifano in Canberra Hospital before they flew out yesterday.

The Laughing Samoans Facebook page said Tofiga of course had to rib him about the Wallabies loss referring to the 42-8 thrashing received at the hands of the All Blacks.

Christian was reportedly touched by All Blacks coach Steve Hansen wishing him well before the test on Saturday night.

“It was good to see him and to meet his spirits lifted by brief visit. Also great to meet his wife, son, mother and mother-in-law. How such a random horrible disease could strike one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet is beyond us. Love you Christian and we'll see you at our show when we return to Canberra next year,” The Laughing Samoans said on their page.

The duo had a sold out show in Canberra.

Leali’ifano was recently diagnosed with leukaemia.

Support for him has been strong with a number of the Wallabies including Will Genia, Matt Toomua, David Pocock and Matt Giteau shaving their heads in an act of support the Brumbies back.

A handful of Montpellier players and coaches also shaved their heads in support for Leali’ifano.

The group included Fiji winger Nemani Nadolo, and ex-Wallaby Scott Wisemantel, Kiwi Ben Botica and South Africa’s Pierre Spies, with the hashtag #Buzz4Bruz in support of Lealiifano.

Supporting a man down but not out @christianlealiifano you're in our thoughts bro #Buzz4Bruz #StayStrong #Fcancer,” halfback Nic White wrote on instagram.

Montpellier is coached by ex-Brumbies mentor Jake White, while a number of ACT players have moved there, including halfback Nic and fullback Jesse Mogg.

Lealiifano was also in the back of the Wallabies’ minds on Saturday night, with Toomua writing “4 Bruz” on his wristband.
