Michael Jackson's daughter Paris & son Prince pay tribute to their late father on what would've been his 58th birthday

Michael Jackson is gone, but his legacy lives on.

Seven years after his death, fans and family alike took to social media to honor the late King of Pop on what would've been his 58th birthday.

Paris Jackson, 18, and Prince Jackson, 19, paid tribute to their father on Instagram, both sharing a sonnet written by "Michael Jackson Jr." (aka Prince):

To many he is king, to me, a man

All he inspires, to lead a noble cause.

Everyone is a family, not a fan

Even while receiving thunderous applause

The many know the Legend and the Myth,

A lucky few know the Man as he is

But not as the Jackson family fifth.

“Son, Brother, Father,” these few know him as.

He is a Myth, the Legend and the Man.

He cares for his mother and children,

The world and everyone, he is a lamb

He is pure, tested, yet has forgiven.

He is the archangel known as Micheal

He is with us and our tears we must stifle.

Paris re-grammed her sibling's poem, adding, "love this.. proud of you big brother. and happy birthday to the man that means more to us than anything and anyone ever could."

Prince provided his own simple commentary with the original, writing, "Happy birthday to the Man who was more than a legend. I love you."

The Jackson family released a statement on Twitter:

Both Prince, Paris and Jackson's youngest child, Blanket Jackson, have maintained a deep connection to their father in the years following this death.

Paris and Prince have both gotten tattoo tributes to the international superstar they knew as their father, and all three children remain in close contact with Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson, and other relatives.
