Muddle leaves PMGH

Port Moresby General Hospital ended its heart-felt program 2016 while farewelling outgoing Chief Executive Officer, Grant R. Muddle, and his wife Anna Megueria.

Muddle’s contract ended in June this year and the hospital has seen a remarkable change under his leadership since he joined almost three-and-a-half years ago.

The hospital staff and management thanked Muddle for his efforts and everything that he has done to lift PMGH to a global standard hospital.

Director Medical Services, Dr. David Mokela, extended his sincere thanks to Muddle for taking the lead in developing the hospital.

“Thank you for taking a stand in tackling a lot of issues involving health in PNG, especially PMGH, and Anna for your support in the blood bank,” Dr. Mokela said.

Executive Director Clinical Services, Dr. Umesh Gupta, said there is so much that can be said about Grant.

“I’m sure the entire management has learned a lot of good things from him as well, and we hope to continue the legacy that he will leave with us,” Dr. Gupta said.

As part of the staff’s appreciation for his leadership, Muddle was presented with bilums and small PNG crafts and artifacts as a reminder of his stay here.

Various employees were also recognised for the month of November and were presented with certificates.

Muddle presented employee of the year award to IT specialist Veali Vauna, and cut two cakes – one for November staff birthdays and the other a farewell cake.

His wife, who is the coordinator of Corporate Blood Drive and Youth Blood Drive, has also made a great difference in blood collections at the blood bank.

Muddle and his wife left the country over the weekend.
