PNG misses out on bronze in women’s volleyball

PNG has missed out on the bronze medal in the women’s volleyball.

They went down to New Caledonia 3-1 at the BSP Arena today.

New Caledonia grabbed the first set in a close encounter 25-18.

PNG played hard but were over confident losing again in the second set 25-21.

The home team regrouped in the third set to bounce back with a win towards the end of the set thanks to a good ball placement by Lois Garena.

New Caledonia fired back in the fourth set putting on a huge challenge for PNG as they maintained good defense and spiking attack to win 25-19.

PNG finishes fourth, Fiji in fifth place followed by Solomon Islands, Wallis and Futuna and Guam.

The gold play off will be between Tahiti and American Samoa.
