PNG takes Gold in men’s half marathon

 And Bisamo ended Papua New Guinea’s dominance in the XV Pacific Games track and field events on a high note.

The final year Kabaleo Teachers College student completed the 21km race in 1:14:11 seconds.

Finishing second was Georges Richmond of French Polynesia (Tahiti) with a time of 1:14:23s and Avikash Lal of Fiji third over the finish line recording a time of 1:15:07s.

It was a Melanesian affair in the women’s half marathon.

Solomon Islands finished first and second while PNG crossed third for Bronze.

Sharon Firisua clocked (1:29:26s), Dianah Matekali (1:30:24s) and Miriam Goiye of Papua New Guinea (1:31:22s).
