Tonga’s Cabinet has approved that Wednesday, 22 June 2016 be declared a special public holiday to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Tupou College.
A government statement says this special public holiday is a one-off and it is in recognition of the 150th Anniversary of Tupou College.
The college of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga is the first secondary school to the established in Tonga and to reach 150 years.
Some of the notable alumi are the late King of Tonga, Taufa’ahau Tupou IV, former Deputy Prime Minister, Viliami Tangi and rugby player, Willie Ofafengaue
