UNDP and Tonga Government sign MOU

The Government of the Kingdom of Tonga and UNDP have signed United Nations Joint Presence Office Memorandum of Agreement and Inauguration event in Nuku’alofa.

The MOU was signed between Dr. ‘Aisake Eke on behalf of the Government of Tonga and Osnat Lubrani, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative.

Dr Eke said the inauguration of the United Nations Joint Presence Office marks another milestone in the Government of Tonga’s partnership with the United Nations over the past 16 years.  He thanked the United Nations Resident Coordinator for the UN assistance and support towards the development of Tonga and their patience.

Osnat Lubrani said the launch of the UN Joint Presence Office in Nukualofa, is testimony of a genuine and durable partnership between the United Nations and the Kingdom of Tonga to work together to advance sustainable development in the country. She thanked the Minister for his confidence, trust and support, honoring the United Nations.
