Trailer for new Tupac film, All Eyez On Me, is released

A trailer for the new Tupac biopic has been released.

All Eyez On Me is a dramatisation of the rapper's life, telling the true story of his rise to fame to his controversial years at the top.

It will also focus on his highly publicised death.

He's sold millions of records all around the world and on Friday became only the sixth rapper to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Demetrius Shipp Jr. plays the role of Tupac in the film and it's his first big part.

Danai Gurira, from the Walking Dead, also plays Tupac's Mum.

The trailer opens with the words: "You must stand for something, you must live for something, and you must be willing to die for something."

It shows Tupac in the recording studio and on stage, but it's not long before there's gun violence and mention of an FBI investigation.

Tupac Shakur was born in New York, but lived in California.

At the height of his popularity he was embroiled in feuds with east coast rappers such as Diddy and Notorious B.I.G.

As well as rapping he also appeared in several films, including gang movie Juice and basketball story Above The Rim.

He died in September 1996 in Las Vegas after being shot four times.

He was taken to hospital and put on life support, but died six days later aged 25.

The killer has never been found.

The film will be released on 16 June.
