In the second half it was all New Caledonia as PNG tried to survive chances to Watrone and Ausu to preserve their lead.

Minutes later New Caledonia found a chance to extend their lead from a direct penalty when Bran Ausu was brought down in the box before Thomas Gope-Fenepej duly converted the penalty as NCL took the lead for the first time, 1-2 in the second half.
In the 82nd minute NCL blasted another amazing goal from a free kick through Pothin Poma who slashed an absolute right footy squeezing low into the corner to further their lead 3-1.
But that was not enough as they attacked again in the added penalty time when Substitute Warren Houla round out the scoring with another quick goal to beat PNG 4-1 in the opening Pool A match of the OFC U20 championship.
