Gunemba pleased after big win

It was the just the start Lae City Dwellers coach, Peter Gunemba, wanted for his side at the OFC Champions League 2018.

Dwellers’ 7-2 win over Tupapa Maraerenga FC over the weekend has not only put them on top in Pool A but also sent out an ominous warning to the other teams that the lads from Lae mean business.

“I’m very, very pleased with the boys’ performance. For the weather, we’re used to it so it’s not a problem for us,” he said.

“The opposition we found very good. They’re a bit slow and heavy but tactically they’re very good so we found it very difficult to score against them.

“We expected to score more goals, to be honest, but that’s the way it is.”

Dwellers will face a much tougher opponent in Ba FC from Fiji when Pool A resumes action tomorrow at Korman Stadium, Vanuatu.
