Tonga finishes in top 10 of Women’s Shot-put final in Birmingham

Tonga’s Ata Maama Tuutafaiva was placed 10th in the Women’s Shot-Put final at the Commonwealth Games.

Tuutafaiva threw a length of 16.30m, which is also her season’s best throw.

The 25-year-old was placed 6th with a throw of 15.37 in the qualifying rounds.

The final’s gold medal was claimed by Sarah Mitton of Canada, Danniel Thomas-Dodd of Jamaica scooped silver and bronze went to New Zealand’s Maddison-Lee Weshe.
