WOWS Tonga Tae Kami Foundation celebrates 10th anniversary

WOWS Tonga Tae Kami Foundation launched the anniversary celebrations in Nuku’alofa Wednesday.

The foundation was formed in memory of Tae Kami who passed away in 2008 after battling cancer.

Honourable Frederica Tuita-Filipe cut a cake and a children’s choir entertained guests with the theme song ‘Walk On Walk Strong’ at Vaiola Hospital.

Kami penned the song ‘Walk on Walk Strong’ which inspired the name and acronym ‘WOWS’.

Digicel Tonga treats loyal customers

This is one of Digicel’s final initiatives to commemorate its 10th anniversary in Tonga.

Seventy-five lucky walk-in customers received free Digicel Coffee mugs and free coffee as well as additional free Unlimited Data for 2 Hours.

The event marked the end of the anniversary that falls in the month of May.

Digicel Tonga celebrates 10th anniversary

The event at Seaview Lodge and Restaurant was also attended by Prime Minister, Akilisi Pohiva, Australian High Commissioner, Andrew Ford, Hon. Fane Tupouvava’u Tu’ivakano and the Governor, Sione Ngongo Kioa.

The celebration is in recognition of the milestone of Digicel on its 10th anniversary of service in the Kingdom of Tonga.

Mr Tu’ivakano and Dennis Fuapau, Head of Business Solutions at Digicel cut the anniversary cake.

Mr Fuapau is one of Digicel Tonga’s longest serving employees.

Innovative RSE scheme 10 years young

The RSE scheme was established in 2007 and allows the horticulture and viticulture industries to recruit workers from overseas for seasonal work when there are not enough New Zealand workers.
