Three charged with murder of Auckland mum Meliame Fisi’ihoi

Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Bright of Counties Manukau Police said Police have worked tirelessly since Fisi’ihoi was killed in her Favona home on 15 January 2020 to identify those allegedly involved and hold them to account.

Fisi'ihoi was watching TV in the sitting room when she got up to check a noise she heard outside.

The mother of seven was shot through a window near the front door about 2.45am.

Three men aged 19, 22 and 28 have been jointly charged with murder and are expected to appear in the Manukau District Court today.

3 Tongans charged over seizure of 10 illegal firearms and more than 20,000 ammunition

Three shipments were seized at the Custom Warehouse in Vava’u and one shipment was seized from one of the bondage Warehouse in Tongatapu.

Police arrested three men in relation to these shipments.

The suspects are a  43-year-old man from Kameli Vava’u, who has been charged with the importation of firearms and over 20,000 various ammunition without licence and  a 45-year-old man from Leimatu’a.

The third suspect is a 74-year-old man from Neiafu who has been charged with  importation of firearms and ammunition without licence.

3 men arrested for possession of methamphetamine and cannabis

Last Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at a home in Kolomotu’a and arrested a 45 year old man from Nukunuku.

The suspect allegedly had one pack (0.40grams) of the illicit drug methamphetamine or ICE.

He has been charged with possession of illicit drugs.

Another 35 year old man from Kolomotu’a was also arrested with 6 packs (3.46grams) of methamphetamine (ICE).

He has also been charged with possession of illicit drugs.

Both accused will appear at the Magistrate Court this week.

Homicide investigation launched

The man died at Vaiola Hospital early Monday morning 24th October, from critical injuries sustained when he was assaulted with a machete in the parking lot of the Solar Farm in Vaini.

The suspects were arrested and the machete was confiscated while Police are still looking for one other suspect.

They are alleged to have assaulted the deceased with his 2 friends and damaged their vehicle while they were drinking at the parking lot.

Police are now treating this as a homicide inquiry and are working to piece together what happened.
