Actress Patricia Brake dies aged 79 after long illness

Her agent Scott Marshall Partners said Brake would be "sadly missed" by her friends, family, colleagues and fans.

Brake's 60-year career saw her play roles in television soaps Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders.

But she was best known to viewers in the 1970s for her role in Porridge.

Brake played Ingrid, the daughter of Ronnie Barker's Norman Stanley Fletcher and she reprised the same role in Going Straight, alongside Richard Beckinsale and Nicholas Lyndhurst.

Actress Zara Phythian and husband jailed for child sex offences

Zara Phythian - who appeared in Doctor Strange with Benedict Cumberbatch - sexually abused a 13-year-old girl together with her husband Victor Marke.

Marke also sexually abused a 15-year-old girl on his own.

At Nottingham Crown Court, Phythian, who is 37, was jailed for eight years while her husband, 59, was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Judge Mark Watson said Marke was the "driving force behind the abuse".

Till Death Us Do Part and Sherlock actress dies aged 84

She found fame in Cliff Richard's 1963 film Summer Holiday before starring in hit sitcom Till Death Us Do Part.

The actress went on to appear in shows like Worzel Gummidge, The Worst Witch, EastEnders and Sherlock.

Her agent paid tribute to her as "a wonderful actress" and "graceful, gracious and kind and constant friend".

After starting her career as a dancer, Stubbs became a fixture on the small screen in the 60s when she played Alf Garnett's exasperated daughter Rita in Till Death Us Do Part and the 1980s follow-ups 'Til Death and In Sickness and In Health.

Minnie Mouse voice actress dies aged 75

The actress died in Glendale, California on Friday, the Walt Disney Company has said.

Since 1986, Taylor provided voice-overs for animated TV series, films and theme parks featuring Mickey Mouse's high-pitched and giggly partner Minnie.

She also played characters in The Simpsons, including Bart's dorky classmate Martin.

Mirroring the character she played, Taylor married Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey until his death in 2009.

Bob Iger, Disney's chairman and chief executive, paid tribute to Taylor in a statement released on Saturday.

Carrie Fisher died from 'sleep apnoea and other causes'

Her death certificate said in January that the 60-year-old, best known for her role as Princess Leia, had suffered a cardiac arrest.

But in a statement the LA coroner said the exact cause was unknown.

Sleep apnoea is a common condition in which a person stops breathing during sleep, either for a few seconds or minutes.

As well as listing sleep apnoea as a cause of death, the coroner's statement cited other factors, including heart disease and drug use.

Her manner of death would be listed as undetermined, it said.

Actress Glenne Headly dies at 62

The actress, best known for starring alongside Warren Beatty in "Dick Tracy," was 62. She is survived by her husband Byron McCulloch and son Stirling.

"It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the passing of Glenne Headly," her reps said in a statement. "We ask that her family's privacy be respected in this difficult time."

Headly, a native of Connecticut, got her start in theater and went on to star in several productions including "Extremities" alongside Susan Sarandon in 1982.
