Amir Khan

Boxer Amir Khan removed from US flight

Mr Khan, 34, said he had been taken off the American Airlines plane along with a colleague by police when someone complained his friend's mask "was not high enough".

The airline said the flight from Newark Airport to Dallas-Fort Worth returned to the gate after two people reportedly "refused to comply with crew requests".

It denied that police had intervened.

Pacquiao camp reject Khan claim

Khan announced on Tuesday that "both parties have signed the fight off" for Riyadh on November 8, suggesting only an injury to Pacquiao in his clash with Keith Thurman could scupper the planned bout.

But with Pacquiao firmly focused on taking on Thurman for the WBA welterweight title in Las Vegas on Saturday, his team have spoken on his behalf to reject Khan’s claim.

Sean Gibbons, president of MP Promotions, told BoxingScene.com: "The Amir Khan fight is news to us."

Pacquiao-Khan bout agreed for April

Khan (31-4) won a poll of Pacquiao's followers when the 38-year-old asked who his next title defence should be against.

Kell Brook - Khan's fellow Briton, who has sought a bout with the Bolton native - Australia's Jeff Horn and American Terence Crawford missed out.

Though Pacquiao (59-6-2) said at the time that his next bout would be held in the United Arab Emirates, a venue for his bout with Khan is yet to be confirmed.
