Arsenal

Crystal Palace 2 Arsenal 3

For much of the game, Arsenal produced some of the fine football we have grown accustomed to since Wenger's arrival in 1996, and Sanchez produced two moments of real quality in less than four second-half minutes to clinch all three points as the Gunners boss moved level with Alex Ferguson in terms of Premier League fixtures managed.

Although Palace went into the match without a defeat in their previous eight top-flight outings, Arsenal were well in charge for the majority of the first half and were fully deserving of the opening goal through Shkodran Mustafi in the 25th minute.

Arsenal and Liverpool share spoils in six-goal thriller

In disarray for 45 minutes and behind to a rare headed goal by Philippe Coutinho, Arsenal were in danger of suffering a pre-Christmas nightmare on Saturday (NZ time) when Mohamed Salah raced away to put a rampant Liverpool 2-0 ahead in the 52nd minute with his 15th league goal of the season.

But the hosts suddenly came alive and, unbelievably, they were ahead by the 58th minute with goals from Alexis Sanchez, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil turning the game upside down.

Henderson hails Liverpool 'heart'

Goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge gave Jurgen Klopp's side a stunning and fully deserved victory in Sunday's clash.

The Gunners, who have now lost by four or more goals on four occasions away to Liverpool in the Premier League, failed to register a shot on target in what was a listless performance that prompted some travelling fans to call once again for manager Arsene Wenger's sacking.

Speaking afterwards, Henderson appeared to underline the difference between the teams when he highlighted the importance of Liverpool's work rate.

Newcastle interested in Lucas Perez

Benitez has grown increasingly frustrated with Newcastle's efforts in the transfer market, with only five new faces arriving at St James' Park despite owner Mike Ashley pledging to make "every last penny" the club earns available to the Spaniard.

Perez is out of favour at Arsenal following the signing of Alexandre Lacazette for a reported €60million fee and Arsene Wenger has suggested the forward is free to leave Emirates Stadium after a single season at the club.

Bayern 1 Arsenal 1 (2-3 pens)

Wednesday's International Champions Cup fixture followed the pattern of many of their Champions League meetings as Bayern were utterly dominant, but Robert Lewandowski's eighth-minute penalty was all they had to show with Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech turning in a wonderful display.

James Rodriguez saw five chances at a first Bayern goal repelled by the veteran goalkeeper, whose efforts were rewarded in the 94th minute when Alex Iwobi headed home after a fine Arsenal move.

Bellerin to donate £19k to Grenfell Tower victims

Spain Under-21 defender Bellerin vowed to donate £50 for every minute he played in La Rojita's European Championship.

Having played 381 minutes as Spain reached the final, where they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Germany, Bellerin has racked up £19,050 in donations.

At least 80 people are missing and presumed dead after the disaster in North Kensington, London last month.

Arsenal 2 Man United 0: Welbeck helps end former side's 25-match unbeaten run

The Portuguese coach tempted fate by making eight changes from Thursday's Europa League win over Celta Vigo and it ultimately backfired, with the hosts consigning them to their first league defeat since losing 4-0 to Chelsea in October.

After a particularly frenetic start which saw each side waste good opportunities, Arsenal looked the more purposeful going forward and spent long periods probing a stubborn United defence which included Premier League debutant Axel Tuanzebe.

Spurs plan to pile on the pressure

Spurs guaranteed they will finish above Arsenal for the first time since 1995 as second-half goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane secured a 2-0 win over Arsene Wenger's side.

A victory over the Hammers at London Stadium would reduce the gap between second-placed Spurs and Premier League leaders Chelsea to just one point, with Antonio Conte's men, who cruised to a 3-0 victory at Everton earlier on Sunday, not in action until they host relegation-threatened Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Sanchez sends Arsenal second

Having set up Mesut Ozil for Arsenal's opener on 24 minutes, Sanchez capped a stunning individual display with three goals in 15 second-half minutes.

Andy Carroll's marked his long awaited return to the West Ham first-team with a goal nine minutes from time but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's response a minute later ensured it was mere consolation for the hosts, who remain a point above the relegation zone and without a league win since mid-October.

Wenger hails 'world class' Ospina

The shot-stopper made numerous saves as the English side earned a 1-1 draw in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Wenger praised the Colombia international for his display, but said he already knew of his – and Petr Cech's – quality.

"I have two world-class goalkeepers, I will repeat that. I know we have enough games to give them games," he said, via the club's website.

"But if you cannot play… you cannot keep as well two world-class goalkeepers that don't get games."

Cech was left on the bench as Ospina made his first appearance of the season for Wenger's men.
