Tourists on bus injured near Giza pyramids

South African tourists are among the injured. Most of those hurt suffered minor injuries, while three were treated in hospital, officials say.

A device went off close to the museum fence as the bus was passing.

It is not yet known who was behind the bombing but Islamist militants have attacked tourists in Egypt in the past.

In December, three Vietnamese tourists and a local tour guide were killed after a roadside bomb hit their bus.

The developments came as Shiite rebels known as Houthis launched new attacks, after weeks of retreating as pro-government troops pushed north out of Aden. Yemen's fighting, which escalated in March, pits the Houthis and troops loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh against southern separatists, local and tribal militias, Sunni Islamic militants and troops loyal to President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

The blast was the latest in a series of bombings in recent years targeting security forces in the Gulf nation, which continues to face low-level unrest more than four years after widespread protests demanding greater political rights.

The Interior Ministry described the bombing as a "terror blast," and said it took place in the largely Shiite community of Sitra, just south of the capital, Manama. One of the wounded officers sustained serious injuries, the ministry said.

British teen accused of plot to commit college massacre

Liam Lyburd, 19, is on trial for allegedly amassing an arsenal to target Newcastle College in northern England. He was expelled in 2012 for being disruptive in class.

Prosecutor Nick Dry told jurors at Newcastle Crown Court that a file recovered from Lyburd's computer titled "Newcastle College" said: "You ruined my whole life ... I will teach you a little lesson on respect with my 9mm hollow points."

It also said, "yes people will die, there's no question about that."
