The palace said the monarch, 95, could undertake some light duties during that time, including virtual audiences.

Officials said it is her "firm intention" to attend Remembrance Sunday events on 14 November.

The Queen underwent preliminary medical checks in hospital on 20 October after cancelling a visit to Northern Ireland.

She resumed public engagements on Tuesday this week by meeting ambassadors via video link from Windsor Castle.

But it was announced this week that she will not attend the COP26 climate change summit in Glasgow.

Prince Philip, 99, was admitted to King Edward VII's hospital in central London on 16 February after feeling unwell.

He later underwent a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition at another London hospital - St Bartholomew's.

The duke has now returned to Windsor Castle.

In a statement on Tuesday, Buckingham Palace said the duke was discharged "following treatment for an infection and a successful procedure for a pre-existing condition".

The 93-year-old monarch was rushed to Windsor Castle.

There are plans in place to quarantine the Queen and Prince Philip, 98, at their Sandringham estate if the outbreak worsens.

A royal source told The Sun: “She is in good health but it was thought best to move her. A lot of her staff are a bit panicky over coronavirus.

“The Palace hosts a constant stream of visitors including politicians and dignitaries from around the world.

Volunteers, carers, community workers and good neighbours are unsung heroes whose quiet dedication makes them special, she will say.
